Today “design thinking” at the Global Grand Show of Dubai

A new organic material that uses the energy of the body’s movement, a luxury yacht that cleans the ocean, a new construction technique inspired by silkworms … here are three of the top 50 innovations that have been presented to Global Grand Show at Dubai’s Design District.

global-grad-show-listingThis is a unique exhibition because, for the first time, both innovative and revolutionary ideas have been presented from universities around the world.

Dubai presents itself as one of the most vibrant and multicultural city of the Middle East, single platform for designers and creatives.

guanto di potenzaAmong the most interesting ideas in the category dedicated to construction and building, a glove that can be used to hand carve hard materials such as stone and wood was presented by RCA Morten Grønning Nielsen.

Great interest also for the temporary Pavilion, a dome created with silk fibers woven from a robot mechanical arm, created by MIT.
