In Capri, time seems suspended between the scent of lemons, the deep blue of the sea, and terraces overlooking the Faraglioni. In this unique setting, the Grand Hotel Quisisana—an iconic historic property founded in 1845 and a symbol of Capri’s hospitality—stands as a landmark of elegance and welcome.

In this refurbishment project, the interior doors were not merely functional elements, but tools capable of shaping the spatial experience. Bertolotto Porte S.p.A. produced doors for the hotel’s 86 rooms, designed to combine aesthetics with high technical performance, meeting the requirements of safety, privacy, durability, and visual harmony typical of luxury hospitality.

There are two key protagonists.

The first are the hand-lacquered doors from the PantoClassica collection, featuring pantographed detailing and faux solid wood engraving, which stand out within the space: defined reliefs and uniform surfaces capture the light and enhance the proportions and rhythm of the rooms, creating continuity between vertical surfaces and decorative elements. Their hollow-core leaves consist of a 50 mm perimeter frame made of kiln-dried solid Italian wood. The lacquer is water-based, in line with environmental standards and long-term durability requirements. Completing them are the TR L8 frame and architrave systems, with classic shaping that integrates harmoniously into the surrounding environment.

Alongside these, the BIFENIX EI 60 fire-rated doors ensure safety in compliance with European standards, offering fire resistance for up to 60 minutes. In a setting such as a Grand Hotel, privacy is also essential, including acoustic comfort. In accordance with UNI EN ISO 10140-2 and UNI EN ISO 717 standards, BIFENIX doors meet these requirements with a sound insulation rating of 34–47 dB, depending on customization. The Pantoclassica finish ensures a cohesive and elegant relationship with the other openings.

The result is a coherent, refined, and functional space where technical performance, structural solidity, and aesthetic balance coexist, giving the rooms a defined character and a timeless style.
