The wall is no longer a simple surface to be painted but a modern canvas to be customized, taking a new approach to Home Decoration. With this in mind, Cap Arreghini, producer of decorative paints and varnishes for over 70 years, presented its own creative revolution at FuoriSalone in Milan: Wall Make-Up Art.
At the heart of the Wall Make-Up Art Revolution is a new concept: the wall is the 'skin' of a home, and as such its potential to produce a story, charm, and harmony should be enhanced. In this way the company commits to making every room a special place, with a distinctive personality, that can create well-being and positive sensations. This is not just about superficial cosmetics, but the capacity to deal with materials, identify and anticipate stylistic trends, and express a sensibility to colour, all realized through sophisticated manual skills.
In this project, inspiration is combined with technique and knowledge, while the building material is elevated to artistic language. Hence the fundamental role of the Master Decorator, who supersedes the traditional applicator and becomes both a technician and an interpreter. Cap Arreghini's Wall Make-up Artists and their live performances were the protagonists and architects of the success of the Wall Make-Up Art Revolution event at the Salotto in Milan: they created veritable, on-the-spot works of art on the wall and showed the audience of interior designers and architects the aesthetic and technical potential of the new range of material effects, collected in the Inspirations catalogue.
Pietra Lunare, Marmorino e Travertino
The variety of the available options expresses the company's innovative idea of Wall-Beauty, which goes far beyond the classic canons of home decoration with standard patterns and colours: it challenges you to imagine new combinations of textures, materials and tactile effects to transform an ordinary wall into a narrative surface. The tools to achieve this vibrant idea of ambience are part of the new Inspirations Generation Art range, which offers strictly eco-friendly products based on lime or water. Because Cap Arreghini believes beauty can' t exist without respect. The combination of these products and the instinct of the Wall Make-Up Artist creates unique and exclusive material effects.
A skilful mix of application techniques and basic materials (base coatings, finishes, stuccoes, waxes) creates multiple and diverse inspirations, ideal for meeting intersecting requests of style, taste, and look in the interior design of domestic, commercial or hospitality settings. All of this is always done with a contemporary approach that's never purely imitative, as in the case of stone effects, where stone is never simply replicated, but reinterpreted. In Origine (materials: Stoneart + Mineral Bronze) the natural white stone is illuminated with rusty mineral influences, in Petra (Marmorino + Pearl Silver) it is enlivened with elegant streaks and iridescent tones. Pietra Lunare (Marmorino + Travertino), rich in chiaroscuro effects inspired by the surface of the moon, has a colour and material depth with an almost industrial feel.
Bamboo (Marmorino + Pearl Silver), with its three-dimensional vertical grooves, manages to give a tactile rhythm to the walls, marked by light and shadow and only apparent regularity.
Flora (Marmorino or Travertino + Decor Stucco + Kalahari) features delicate floral motifs between tradition and modernity, with a romantic, subtle bas-relief effect achieved through special handmade stencils.
Interferenze (Marmorino) is a triumph of simultaneous decorations and stylistic contrasts; streaks of colour, geometric patterns and classical figurative themes overlap, recalling the decorative stratifications on a wall weathered by time. These highly emotional virtuosities are obtained through the stencil technique.
We live in the age of perfect and infinite technical reproducibility of every image. Thanks to ultra-high definition digital printing, today it is possible to impress on any surface and material (from paper to ceramics, from glass to metal) any type of design and material effect, surpassing nature itself in hyper-realism. This is why the Wall Make-Up Art project is unique and returns to people as the focus of attention: both in terms of creative originality (it is no coincidence that the Inspirations catalogue logo is a stylized brain) and handmade excellence.
