Skin is a modular system of designer sound-absorbing panels for the effective absorption of reverberation in enclosed spaces. A new brand born from the technical experience of Tecnasfalti-Isolmant and the design nous of Wide Design Consultancy, it offers solutions for reducing noise in style. An innovative modular and sectional panel system product of the expertise of a company with forty years of experience in acoustics for construction and architecture together with a creative Design studio.
Skin is an innovative project that combines form with substance, functionality with design. It enables architects and interior designers to address the phenomenon of reverberation by experimenting with 60 x 60 cm tile modules, each of which available in different shades chosen from a sophisticated color palette.
The texture of the panels in the "Oblique Collection" is key to the overall aesthetic effect, both decorative and playful at the same time: the possibility of mixing and matching them enables designers to express themselves to the full, using them on the basis of the graphic effect they want to achieve, whether striking or less intrusive. The number of possible combinations is multiplied because Skin can be positioned and mounted on the wall (Skin Wall), with a wood paneling effect that covers all or part of the surface, but also on the ceiling (Skin Ceiling) or suspended (Skin Baffle), becoming part of the overall interior design. The modularity of the tiles, meanwhile, permits custom and bespoke installations in complex spaces and architectures.
Each tile stands out for its embossed geometries which create different patterns depending on how they are turned and combined together. Lightweight and easy-to-handle, they are removable so you can change their configuration over time. This is possible thanks to the different application methods: in addition to classic glue-based installation using Skin Tape and Incollafacile Adhesive (which guarantee strong but non-invasive adhesion), Skin can be tessellated, laid with spacers or installed in other ways suggested by your architect.

The texture of the panel surface is three-dimensional and "dynamic" because it can be enhanced by the light and the shadow effects that are formed, creating different soft and sensual visual effects. The coating creates a warm and textured effect reminiscent of skin. The color palette consists of 8 shades and allows for combinations of different saturated and unsaturated tones to create original effects. In addition to the standard palette, custom palettes can be created on request.
The core of the product is made from the special Fibtec fiber, jewel in the crown of the Isolmant R&D team, created from recycled PET and designed to guarantee optimum acoustic performance. A completely non-toxic and hypoallergenic fiber, ideal, for example, for domestic environments inhabited by children, a recycled and recyclable fiber, covered with Trevira® CS fabrics that comply with strict standards of sustainability, a topic on which the customers and designers of today must focus close attention.
But Skin is above all wellbeing: the sound-absorbing elements of Skin revolutionize the comfort of spaces, guaranteeing a breathtaking sensory experience, and are equally at home in contract or domestic, public or private spaces. Skin solutions absorb reverberation, those echoes that are created when a wave bounces off a surface, creating an annoying background noise within the room. In this way, every space becomes more livable, comfortable and suitable for carrying out any kind of activity.
The topic of acoustics, not previously a priority in the design and efficiency of spaces, has now become an important prerequisite for creating a comfortable and soundproofed environment that is isolated from disturbing noises (e.g. sounds coming from outside, from the street, from neighbors or from colleagues in the office). For this reason Skin is suitable for all types of environments, private or public - hotels, schools, bars, theaters, conference halls and many others -, where happy coexistence is a must.
