Bookcases, Pentagramma

The new "Pentagramma" day system, designed by Pitsou Kedem for MDF Italia, elegantly interprets the concept of living room furniture, emphasizing the value of lightness. The project, characterized by its simplicity of installation, is based on an extruded aluminum panel fixed to the wall, onto which various suspended elements, such as open compartments and shelves, are attached.

The name "Pentagramma" is inspired by the system's construction: the wall-mounted back panel, where accessories are applied to create different compositions, resembles a musical staff on which notes are written to compose a melody. This system is extremely flexible and versatile, allowing the layout to be reconfigured over time. With just a few elements, it is possible to create endless combinations to meet various functions and adapt to different residential and contract environments. It is an ideal solution for decorating walls in the living room, office, or even the bedroom.

Back Panel

The wall panel, which forms the structural backbone of the entire system, is made of extruded aluminum with a thickness of 20 mm and is available in different lengths (152 cm, 202 cm, 252 cm). The panels can be fixed to the wall using a special aluminum bar, to which hidden supports are attached, allowing adjustments in three directions: horizontal, vertical, and frontal (angle relative to the wall). The panels are completely covered in veneered wood, available in two finishes: bleached oak and canaletto walnut, with the grain always oriented horizontally. The panels can be placed side by side horizontally, but must maintain a minimum distance of 5 cm vertically to allow the attachment of shelves or open compartments.

Shelves

The shelves are made from a single extruded aluminum piece with a thickness of 8 mm. The attachment system to the wall panel is simple and intuitive: the various modules can be arranged according to the desired composition, with a locking system to ensure safety. The shelves are available in a liquid-painted finish in matte colors: white, lead black, and shadow gray. They are available in a single height but in different widths (60 cm, 90 cm, 120 cm). The system also includes a shelf with a divider (left or right) to diversify the configurations.

Open Compartments

The open compartments have a single height and are available in various widths (30 cm, 60 cm, 90 cm). The 90 cm modules include an internal divider (left or right) that divides the space, reminiscent of musical notes within a staff. The materials used include extruded aluminum for the back of the compartments, while the rest of the structure is made of medium-density fiberboard panels laminated with aluminum for greater strength. All modules are liquid-painted in matte colors: white, lead black, shadow gray, burgundy red, English green, dune, and blue, in line with the entire MDF Italia collection.

LED Lighting

The system can be integrated with LED lights, installable on the lower part of the wall panels. Each panel can accommodate LED bars and is equipped with a dedicated power supply unit and control box. The light has a color temperature of 2700° K and can be turned on via remote control or a dedicated app.

Accessories

-Remote control for the complete composition with LED.
-External finishing caps (pair). Three colors: lead black, shadow gray, white.
-The remote control manages the power for the entire composition.
-The finishing caps must be ordered separately and applied to the end parts of the depicted compositions.
-The panels cannot be placed vertically side by side. Maintain a minimum distance of 5 cm between them to allow for the attachment of shelf modules or open compartments.
