Securing reinforced concrete (R.C.) slabs is one of the most critical interventions in the field of passive fire protection. When a horizontal structural element is exposed to fire, the integrity of the concrete and the stability of the metal reinforcement are severely tested by extreme temperatures. To address this challenge, Global Building has developed F62 SUPER PAINT, a specific intumescent coating designed to upgrade the fire resistance of R.C. slabs up to REI 60 class, ensuring both structural stability and thermal insulation.
Certification and Performance on R.C. Slabs
Achieving an REI 60 classification is not merely a matter of thickness, but of certified technical precision. F62 SUPER PAINT has been tested according to the rigorous European standard EN 1365-3 on slabs with a minimum thickness of 50 mm. The success of this solution is documented by the Classification Report I.G. 359277/3972FR and the relevant Technical File approved by the Istituto Giordano. These documents certify that, with a consumption of only 0.4 kg/m², the system creates an effective thermal barrier that preserves the load-bearing capacity of the slab even under the most severe fire conditions.
