Global Building loadbearing walls and lightweight loadbearing walls are solutions for vertical fire compartmentation designed to create fire-resistant separations within a building, maintaining not only integrity and insulation, but also the structural stability of the element. In the catalogue, the reference test standard for loadbearing walls is EN 1365-1, while the classifications provided are RE, REI, REI-M and REW; for compartmentation purposes, the relevant classifications are REI and REI-M.
Within the Global Building range, lightweight loadbearing walls are provided with a metal frame made of vertical “C” studs 75x50x0.8 mm at 600 mm centres, lined with a double layer of FIREGUARD® 13 boards and 12.5 mm SOUNDBREAK boards on each side. The solution shown in the catalogue achieves REI 120 fire resistance, with A1 reaction to fire, height up to 3 metres in the direct field of application and up to 6.2 metres in the extended field of application, with a maximum load of 3.05 kN/m.
For loadbearing walls, the catalogue also includes fire upgrading solutions for existing substrates, for example on loadbearing plastered brick walls, with cladded FIREGUARD® 13 boards fixed mechanically, capable of achieving REI 180. In this case, the reaction to fire is A1, with height up to 3 metres in the direct field of application and up to 8 metres in the extended field of application, with the technical department to be consulted for sizing.
For architects, engineers, surveyors and designers, these systems are useful when a project requires vertical fire compartmentation with a loadbearing function or fire upgrading works on existing walls, with certified solutions and clearly defined technical details.
On this page you can find 3D and BIM models dedicated to Global Building systems for vertical fire compartmentation. Here you can consult the BIM models of loadbearing walls and lightweight loadbearing walls and include them in your architectural project. Files are available for free download in BIM, Revit and IFC formats, together with DWG files for AutoCAD and content compatible with SketchUp, as well as the official fire protection catalogue and technical data sheets.
