F62 Paint One is a two-component, solvent-based intumescent fire protection coating, suitable for applications in both indoor and outdoor environments, even in the presence of light substrate oxidation. The system provides fire resistance ratings of up to R120 with a single application coat, achieving dry film thicknesses of up to 6000 µm.
Thanks to its low-VOC, two-component formulation, F62 Paint One allows high levels of fire protection to be achieved in reduced application and drying times. The product can be spray-applied directly onto steel substrates, even without the prior application of a two-component primer.
The system is certified for fire resistance ratings from R30 to R120 and is intended for the protection of steel columns and beams with closed (tubular) sections, both circular and square. The protective coating consists of the intumescent paint F62 Paint One, to be applied according to the thicknesses specified in ETA 14/0079 tables based on the section factor; the application of a 50 mm wide fiberglass adhesive tape is also required.
Application is carried out by spray, with an indicative coverage rate of 1.75 kg/m² per 1000 µm of thickness. Surface preparation and the selection of any finishing coat must be defined according to the corrosivity category of the exposure environment (see diagrams on pages 52–53); the finishing coat is not required for fire protection purposes.
