This Ishiburo Bathtub, designed by award-winning Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, is composed of a natural stone base encircling a simple rectangular basin. The Ishiburo texture, a series of irregular lines carved into the surface of the stone, decorate the exterior of the bathtub. Part of a wider collection that includes a basin and shower tray, together they create a refined addition in natural stone to either a Salvatori ‘total look’ bathroom or mixed with other contemporary pieces. “I aspired to maximise the inherent material quality of stone. Being immersed in warm water contained within stone brings instinctive comfort to human beings”. These are the words of renowned architect and designer Kengo Kuma who, with Ishiburo, designed a collection which creates a truly harmonious and tranquil bathroom experience.
