The GB-T intumescent expanding tape by Global Building is a solution for the passive fire protection of combustible pipe penetrations through thin walls and partitions. The system is designed for PVC, PE and PP pipes with diameters ranging from 50 to 110 mm and allows certified penetrations to be achieved with EI 60, EI 90 and EI 120 fire resistance ratings.
The GB-T tape is made of intumescent material and is installed by wrapping it directly around the pipe. In the event of a fire, the heat-reactive material expands when exposed to high temperatures, increasing in volume and contributing to the protection of the penetration and to maintaining the fire-resistance performance of the building element.
