Description
Designer: Marco Acerbis – Year of production: 2019
Font Urban Lighting strikes a balanced relationship between form and function, combining essential lines with subtle vintage references in a sober, timeless lighting fixture. Designed for pole-mounted installations, this version enhances urban spaces with a discreet and refined luminous presence.
Compact in its proportions and clean in its design, Font integrates naturally into a wide variety of architectural contexts, offering controlled and functional lighting thanks to a proprietary optical system available in street, asymmetric, or diffused beam distributions. The precision of the light and the quality of the materials turn every installation into an essential design gesture, capable of defining the environment with restraint and character.
Ideal for squares, boulevards, public areas, or green spaces, Font Urban Lighting becomes a distinctive element that accompanies the city with the same visual and identity coherence as a font chosen to tell a story.
Technical Specificiations
Font Urban Lighting features a body and head die-cast in EN 443000 aluminum alloy with a very low copper content. The galvanic anodizing treatment applied to the product consists of three phases:
Mechanical satin finishing
Surface degreasing
Anodic oxidation and sealing
The subsequent stage is painting, a double-coat in-line process (epoxy-based primer + polyester-based topcoat), which creates a single high-thickness protective layer. This, combined with the previous anodizing treatment, forms a barrier against atmospheric agents and UV rays, achieving salt spray corrosion resistance performance far exceeding market standards.
The bonding of the glass components on Platek products is preceded by a surface pre-treatment using atmospheric-pressure plasma. This process activates surface energy exactly where needed, ensuring excellent wettability and removing any release agent residues, resulting in long-lasting adhesion. The following steps include the application of silicone and the assembly of the glass onto the luminaire body through an automated process that guarantees perfect sealing of the fixture.IP65, IK08.
