Embassy of the Philippines in Rome

CAFElab was called to design the new offices of the Consulate of the Republic of the Philippines Embassy in Rome. The Consular Offices was attached to the historical building, probably a Casino di Caccia of '900 with a steel structure. So, the starting point of the project was the recovery of historical identity; the architectural partitions were released and isolated using a color code to distinguish the pre-existence to modern intervention. The spaces are no longer sufficient to accommodate the flow of visitors who daily crowd. A general improvement of the conditions of waiting for guests and work for officials through more space and light, more comfort and a more efficient control of flows, the particular shape of the front desk was designed to provide as much space as possible for each operator.
