The Hamptons

The Hamptons

The brief was to create a contemporary relaxed home & a new light bright kitchen, which my clients occupied during the week with their weekends spent on Sandbank at their 2nd home.

The kitchen was our biggest challenge on this project as it was sub basement and north facing which made it terribly dark and somewhat bland. Our thinking was to open up the window, whilst we were aware wouldn’t actually allow more light in, it would give the illusion of more light and we would support it with cleverly positioned Daylight LED lighting supplied to us from Orange lighting & it worked perfectly.

The clients wanted a classic painted kitchen which we have made on several other projects with varying details to make the kitchen unique to the client and handles of their choice. We were all delighted with the outcome, making a great space for convivial dining and entertaining.

Moving up to the living room, this evolved from a visit to Decorex as I was so inspired by the new fabric collection from a little known company and I wanted to introduce these into our portfolio, with ink dots and splashes it was really fun to use. The contemporary sofas lent themselves to linen fabric and the Ikat silk cushions added the “pop of colour” that brought the scheme to life, along with the super fun artwork from Trowbridge as they awaiting the arrival of their new puppy – Draycott.

Designers guild was the inspiration for the bedroom with the lovely relaxed crème linen for the hand finished interlined curtains and cushions that made for a sumptuous seating area and relaxing bed.
