Blow for Luceplan S.p.a
Blow by Ferdi Giardini, realized for Luceplan, is the ceiling fan that becomes a precious object: colored methacrylate blades act as little crystal conductors, radiating light and colors. Their complicated geometry requires precision; no distortion or aesthetic flaw is tolerated. This objective was met thanks to a single-matrix thermoplastic mold equipped with a minimum number of extractors, so to avoid seam lines. The following step was a controlled-cooling core former and one last polishing to reach crystal-like shine and transparency, in a perfect dialogue among light, color and matter.
