PHILOSOPHY: TRADITION AND INNOVATION

Riva 1920 tells of a continuous dialogue between aesthetics and ethics. The story of a company with strong roots and a great craftsmanship, combining innovation and design, respecting the environment and the best tradition of” Made in Italy”. Collaborating with the most famous characters of architecture and art, Riva 1920 stands out for the production of excellent quality furniture, where wood plays an undisputed leading role.

CRAFTSMANSHIP: NATURE TAKES SHAPE

The Riva 1920’s products come from manufacturing techniques related to cabinet making tradition, thanks to the expert hands of highly skilled carpenters and the use of cutting-edge technologies. The artisan production exceeds the standard design dynamics and guarantees a high level of flexibility and customization, both for the home division and for the contract one.

SUSTAINABILITY: REUSE AND REFORESTATION

Environmental protection and love for nature are fundamental principles for Riva 1920. The quality of the used raw materials is the basis of the production process and starts with the choice of the most valuable timbers coming from reforestation areas, using timbers such as cherry, oak and walnut. Characteristic feature of the company is the wood of reuse, such as the thousand-year old Kauri from New Zealand, Briccole of Venice and the scented cedar from Lebanon. The use of vinyl glues and finishes with vegetable oil and wax are the guarantee of a genuine and completely natural product.

DESIGN: THE DISTINCTIVE FEATURE

The Company has a partnership with over 100 designers (such as Renzo Piano, Michele de Lucchi, Karim Rashid, Mario Botta, Paolo Pininfarina, Matteo Thun, Terry Dwan, Alessandro Mendini, Marc Sadler, Mario Bellini, Claudio Bellini and Giuliano Cappelletti), trying to give shape to this beautiful material that is wood.
