APPARTAMENTO IN TORINO
The owner of this bright Turin house contacted me to carry out a restyling of some rooms, characterized by an absolutely irregular plan. The biggest challenge involved the renovation of the round room of about five meters in diameter, used only on special occasions, the fulcrum of the whole apartment. The decoration of the walls required the intervention of a team of professionals who, free of charge, drew a greenhouse of hibiscus flowers against a background of gray marmorino (Consorzio San Luca). To complete the restyling, the decoration in blue marble of the niche and the insertion of a custom-made piece of furniture, given the irregularity of the walls. As a final touch, an antique table completely restored and decorated in gray lacquered color and the spectacular Nemo Crown Major chandelier in matt gold. Attached to this room, the TV room, also with an irregular plan, needed to acquire more character; to do this, the wall where the three large French windows are located, with a view of the Turin hill, has been decorated with a modern and current intense blue color. The corner in front of the sofa, triangular in shape, has been furnished with a custom-made living area, consisting of a gray lacquered TV cabinet, in the same shade as the table, and a solid wood bookcase with brass inserts. The studio, also used by the owner as a guest room, has been completely renovated both in the color of the walls and in the furnishings, with the addition of some new elements such as a modern double-sided bookcase, useful for dividing the room into two well-defined areas distinct, as requested by the client, and a restored and refurbished period chaise longue belonging to my client's family for generations. The Parentesi by Flos provided an additional touch of modernity to the corner used as a laboratory.
