Italian architecture has traditionally used cocciopesto as mortar, plaster, or finishing layer. Materia Viva Cocciopesto is an innovative mixture composed of crushed bricks and tiles with selected grain sizes, combined with the Materia Viva base, a mineral powder coating for interiors made from hydraulic lime, air lime, and selected aggregates. Materia Viva Cocciopesto is a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic cocciopesto plaster, used in the historical architecture of many Italian cities.
